Classic Rock Superstars available directly from LocoLobo Events
Voices Of Rock
Voices of Rock is a live presentation containing segments of music
from the greatest classic rock bands of the 70's and 80's.
Says guitarist David Rode "This is the only act of it's kind to present
a true-to-form tribute to a variety of groups, instead of a whole show
devoted to one band." Diverse 5-10 minute segments showcase the
hits of over 10 supergroups. This is a multidimensional show with wide
appeal as opposed to the cliches of the single-focus tribute band.
Four journeyman rockers play a tribute to the classic rock that
unites generations in this show of Rock shows. In short sets of
the hits of such Classic bands as Journey, Foreigner, U2, AC-DC,
these pros breathe new life into this familiar music with a
unique 'best-of' show. This broad selection appeals to a wider
audience with the sophistocated tastes of today's listeners.
The Voice of 'Voices' is Pete George. His ability to nail the singing
styles of vocalists from Steve Perry of Journey to the young Rod
Stewart is phenomenal. Called "the man of 1000 Voices", he
sounds like these Rock titans in their glory years.
Indeed, the show relies on faithful renditions of these classics, and
not cheesy wig and makeup-fueled mimicry. The band looks
like rockers because they are, not because they are costumed and
coiffed. And the sound is real, with no gimmicks, sequencing or
prerecorded production.
The muscians are members of Topper, a veteran band with
over 20 years experience touring and recording. The show includes
original material from their CD compliation
"Only For the Money/Deluxe Edition", that fits in seamlessly with the
covers in the show. These guys are a band very much
like the groups featured in the show. Topper, a working
band with a large US and European fan base, has collaborated
to present "Voices Of Rock".
The promo DVD is recorded live in real time, with no overdubbing or
studio enhancement. Shot in a single take at Kerrigan's, one of the
Southeast's premere live venues, it is a true reflection of the
excitement of the show. What you see in the promo is what you
get: the raw thrill of real Rock, performed live with passion by pros
who care.-Bill Alexander

SURF CITY ALLSTARS
SURF CITY ALLSTARS
The Surf City Allstars were formed in the early 80's with the band members who were touring with both the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean. The Surf City Allstars are now a full time endeavor for the band members. The Surf City Allstars are the best surfin' beach party band around on a par with their friends, the Beach Boys. Each member has had a long career in surf and beach music. When you hear the band, you get the authentic "SURF" sound and harmonies that were taught to the Allstars by Brian Wilson and Mike Love of the Beach Boys, and Jan Berry of Jan & Dean. The Surf City Allstars perfected their vocals and performance of all the greatest surf music hits through years of touring with the legendary Beach Boys and Jan & Dean.
The Line-Up
The Allstars are rounded out with Gary Griffin on keyboards (Beach Boys, Jan & Dean), David Logeman on drums (Jan & Dean, Mike Love's California Beach Band, Beach Boys), and Don Raymond on guitar (The Ventures, Jan & Dean). The band is also very pleased to add Philip Bardowell on bass and vocals after years of his touring with the Beach Boys, and Matt Jardine from the Beach Boys on vocals and percussion.
The Show
The Surf City Allstars will entertain your group with such audience participation segments as their famous "Air Guitar" contest, where the band gives away a brand new, autographed Fender Squier Stratocaster guitar; the "Wipe Out Contest" where audience members get a chance to play the famous drum solo with the Allstars and win autographed drumsticks and a T-shirt; our "Dance Contest" where CD prizes are given away; and even a "Hula-Hoop Contest" where we give away more CDs and a DVD. It all adds up to one great time for your audience in the best Beach Party experience that there is. The Surf City Allstars also bring the finest oldie's dance tunes to round out their engagements so everyone can dance to their favorite songs and have fun.
"One would think that when you reach perfection, you couldn't get any better. Amazingly enough though, Dean and the Surf City Allstar Band did. Your musical talent is, of course, legendary. Beyond the talent, your down-to-earth and charismatic personality makes everyone comfortable and brings everyone at the party together. Even when we challenged you to play 'non-beach' music, you came through flawlessly."
- Nancy, Chesapeake System Solutions, MD
"We had our wedding on the beach and the Surf City Allstars were perfect for the reception and the ceremony, too! Our family and friends were very impressed. Everyone danced at the reception, from my three-year-old niece, to my 85-year-old grandmother!"
- Hilton and Cindy Smith, Los Angeles, CA
I have seen the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean many times. The Surf City Allstars sounded better, to be honest, and had an even better show than all of them. You guys are incredible!"
- Jason Chaffey
Wellpoint Health Systems
"What a kick! Our beach party was awesome! The Surf City Allstar Band know how to rock. My employees are still talking about it. The are demanding a 26th Anniversary Party. P.S. Thanks for letting my son come on stage and play drums on "Little Old Lady From Pasadena." I hope he didn't break anything!"

The Kings Of Classic Rock
They aren’t household names. . . . but they’ve shared the stage with lots of them. You’ve definitely seen or heard one or more of these guys at some point, either in concert, on TV, or on a CD or DVD. For over 25 years the members of The Kings Of Classic Rock have played for many of the great legends in rock, both in concert and in the studio.
They’ve toured and/or recorded with bands such as Iron Butterfly, The Animals, Edgar Winter, Sheryl Crow, The Fixx, Tears For Fears, Paul Revere and The Raiders, Vanilla Fudge, Genesis, Chuck Berry, Meatloaf, Percy Sledge, Lita Ford, Peter Gabriel, Olivia Newton John, Spencer Davis, Gary Myrick and The Figures, Loverboy, Buddy Miles, Manhattan Transfer, Thelma Houston, Jennifer Love Hewitt, DeBarge, Sugarloaf, Bobby Kimball and Simon Phillips (Toto), The British Rock Symphony, Brand X, Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Robbie Krieger (The Doors), Eddie Van Halen, Steve Lukather (Toto), Brian Auger, Jonatha Brooke, Glenn Shorrock (Little River Band), Dwight Twilley, Walter Trout, Eric Sardinas and more.
The Kings Of Classic Rock met while playing for Eric Burdon and The Animals, and a strong musical bond was forged. After years of very successful worldwide touring, the guys felt that somehow they had to stay together rather than go their separate ways and end up playing as hired guns for other artists as they had done for so many years.
So “The Kings Of Classic Rock” was born. The concept was simple; play the very best songs from each of their former bands, throw in some other great songs from the era, and create an irresistible set, as much fun to listen to as it is for them to play, and make it appealing to anyone who is a fan of rock music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
In addition to lots of touring, you’ve seen and heard them with their previous bands on numerous VH1 and MTV music videos, VH1 documentaries “Storytellers” and “Behind The Music”, PBS music specials, concert DVDs and many music CDs.
With all this combined experience in front of an infinite variety of audiences, The Kings Of Classic Rock know how to deliver an entertaining, dynamic and powerful performance packed with hit after hit. The band was put together with the intention of being the ultimate classic rock band, and they are guaranteed to leave a great, unforgettable impression at corporate events, festivals and concert showrooms.

Art of Chaos
The thing you notice most at an Art of Chaos show is just how much they love playing. It is not just about making music for this Los Angeles-based alternative hard-rock band, it's more about having a conversation with their audience. Playing live gives these guys energy, and the audience picks up on that. The crowd becomes participants, and it fuels the band to dig in harder, take risks, and explore new ground. It's no wonder that Art of Chaos is building a strong following throughout southern California, Arizona, Texas, and the East Coast, delivering to audiences who are looking for something more in their hard rock.
Art of Chaos fuses nü-metal, alternative and hard rock influences to forge a sound uniquely their own. Founded just over a two years ago, the band includes guitarists Matt Ardisson and Miles Knowls, singer Brian Torres, bassist Jeff Sutton and drummer Dave Feldman. The five have been writing, rehearsing and gigging relentlessly, with well-received shows at the Hyundai Pavilion, Coors Ampitheatre, Shoreline Ampitheatre, Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre as well as shows at the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard, The Key Club, Whiskey a Go-Go and the Troubadour.
The band just got done touring on the Projekt Revolution Tour with Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance after winning a contest against 135 of LA's top bands. The grand prize for winning the contest was the opening slot of the LA Projekt Revolution date at the Hundai Pavilion in Devore, CA; but after the members of Linkin Park saw Art of Chaos's over-the-top perform they quickly asked the guys if they could come along for more dates on the tour.
Art of Chaos… the name is an attempt to convey how these 20-something guys fight everyday to make sense of the world around them. But there's real chaos at play in their music, too – a constant tension between the hard rock rhythms, and deceptively simple melodies – that's always one step away from tipping the music over into pandemonium. When Torres sings, "Self-loathing and self-deprecating, looking in the mirror incessantly hating, Everything I was and everything I wasn't," it's moving. With the band driving beneath his vocals, it's jarring. Imagine Jeff Buckley or Thom Yorke writing for Tool or Linkin Park, and you begin to get an idea of what they're about.
Art of Chaos recently finished their second EP, "Crimson and Catharsis" which they hope to release in September. Armed with their new EP, propelled higher by their growing fan base, Art of Chaos is making waves in the LA music scene - one show at a time - with their infectious, inspired hard rock.
Art of Chaos is currently seeking representation and a label.

Further Down
Biography
Jonesboro, AR—Born in the Arkansas hills and with a deep-rooted appreciation for blues-tinged Southern rock as well as radio-ready album rock, five-piece rock band Further Down has arrived. With the release of the band's third full-length album, 7 Years Hard Luck (August 21, 2007), it's clear that Further Down is on a mission to bring rock to its roots and back again to the present.
Further Down features rock royalty in their bloodlines (the two guitarists are cousins of Tommy Shaw of Styx and Jim Dandy Mangrum of BOA), and the band delivers songwriting hooks and plays their instruments with precision like a group that's been together for twenty years. But they are all in their mid-twenties, allowing the potential for great things.
While Further Down is influenced by the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, and Black Crowes, they cultivated their Southern Rock roots a bit more by recording 7 Years Hard Luck at Ardent Studios in Memphis, which has tracked the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin as well as modern rockers 3 Doors Down and REM. That, as well as the production of Pete Matthews (Evanescence, North Mississippi All Stars, Paul Simon), gives Further Down a leg up on classic rock sound-alikes. There is an album-oriented rock approach that feeds off Further Down's roots and lets them blossom like an Arkansas mountain range.
Radio stations such as Clear Channel's KISS 101.9 and Z 100.5 in Jonesboro, as well as Z95.5 in Poplar Bluff, MO; The Max 93.1 in Batesville, AR; and Rock 103 in Memphis have all jumped on board, giving Further Down the kind of regional push needed to branch out into other markets in the South and Midwest. In addition, the album is being nationally distributed by Select-O-Hits (Memphis) and the Band's indie label, WoodShed Records.
And along with the powerful studio release, Further Down has refined an airtight live show in markets such as Little Rock, St. Louis, Memphis and Nashville with plans to branch out more in 2008. They have shared the stage with the likes of Live, Flyleaf, Ingram Hill, Warrant, Poison, Our Lady Peace and more.
NEW News - "Northeast Arkansas' Further Down has been making quite a name for itself over the years. Their fans and critics alike agree – these young men are really onto something..." - Nightflying Publications (December 2007). THE SUMMER OF LOVE SHOW
ENJOY ON STAGE THIS 6 MEMBER BAND/SHOW WITH THE LIKES OF JANIS JOPLIN, JIMI HENDRIX, GRACE SLICK, SLY STONE, BERTON CUMMINGS, JOHN KAYE & MORE..
PERFORMING THEIR GREATEST HITS FROM THE LATE 60'S.ABOUT THE BAND
Terry Brent: Band Leader, Drummer
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Terry ventured to the west coast at an early age to advance his drumming career. He played in numerous successful original and show bands until the year 2000, when he formed this late 60's tribute. Terry says, “Far out” before each show because he gets to lay down those groovy beats from the Flower Power Days.
Connie Early: Lead & backup vocals
Rock ‘n’ roll is in her blood. Born in Cleveland, Ohio and into a family of singers, she was heard singing before she was talking. Connie stays fresh by training with the best and singing in other local bands. She brings to this act great variety and surprises by paying tribute to Janis Joplin, Grace Slick and Cher. You'll be doing double takes as Connie performs as all three gals.
Ron Olsson: Vocals, guitar & drums
Ron comes from St. Paul, Minnesota and has had much success in the LA area since 1977 with many bands as well as with his solo act. He shows his complete vocal versatility while performing as Burton Cummings, John Phillips, and John Kay in this Summer of Love show. This guy from the north is red hot on stage and sinks his teeth into all his songs.
Gerry Davis: Vocals, guitar & harmonica
Gerry is originally from Petersburg, Virginia, where he received his masters degree in vocal performance while enhancing his guitar playing. This provided the foundation for his goal to find his fame and fortune in the California music scene. After developing his musical skills further in local bands, he became a perfect fit for this band paying tribute to Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone and great R&B hits. Yes, Gerry does play guitar with his teeth!
Julie Dolan: Keyboards, vocals & percussion
Nicknamed “Flower”, Julie was born in the San Fernando Valley, California which definitely places her roots in the west coast rock vein. She won best female keyboardist of the year at the all Access Magazine Music Awards and performs in two other tribute bands to keep busy between this show’s gigs. She shows that 60's is her favorite music and is featured singing and playing keys to the Spencer Davis hit “Gimme Some Lovin'”. If you think you recognize Julie's smiling face, it may be from her recent appearance on a commercial or TV show.
David Abercrombie: Bass & vocals
He grew up in Florida and somehow ended up in a commune in Arizona. After many years of playing bass 20 hours a day, he fell into the lap of this late 60's tribute and adds some flavor while singing the Lovin’ Spoonful’s hit song “Summer in the City”. David shows his true free spirit with his non stop visual excitement in this Summer Of Love Show!!!
Jack Cadillac
Jack Cadillac is an original rock band out of Georgia. Waycross, Georgia is home not only to the legendary Gram Parsons, but also to the unique twists found in the sounds of this acid swamp rock - "Swampadelic" band -- or more specifically retro mixed with country, blues and rock 'n roll which
is clearly indicated by the sounds of Jack Cadillac. Most of the original songs of Jack Cadillac were written by Sean Clark, a born and raised Waycross native who began his interest in music some 17 years prior. In Jack's earlier days Sean's younger cousin Brandon Doty and his buddy John Pope got together to help fuel these interest.
Jack often pulls on several players found in the local family circle of talent to spice things up on occasion, often referred to as Jack and Friends.
The current line up of Jack cadillac is:
Sean Clark - Vocals, Guitar.
John "The Pope" - Guitar, Mandolin, Piano.
Brandon Doty - Bass.
Dylan Crosby - Drums

MAN IN BLACK: The Johnny Cash Tribute
MAN IN BLACK plays predominantly to a new generation of fans too young to have known the real thing in its zenith. Those who see the show will know what it must have been like to see the real Johnny Cash in concert. David Stone's voice, mannerisms, and the sound of his band are wholly true to the legend.
Stone is not a look-alike or an impersonator, but his rendition of Johnny Cash observes a strict authenticity and dignity in conveying the rich, thought provoking music that made Johnny Cash an icon of American Country Music.
The show travels nationwide, and also features Mia Johnson cast in the role of June Carter
Johnny "Elvis" Thompson
JOHNNY THOMPSON Johnny is considered to be the Best Elvis Impersonator in the world by those who knew Elvis Best!Johnny Hosted the 2005 MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet. The Late AL Dvorin and his family considered Johnnys show as 'Magnificient', Johnny has worked with Elvis Back-up singers, The Jordanaires, Charlie Hodge and others of Elvis Memphis Mafia.
Taxi Doll
Yes, it’s true about who you know in Hollywood but sometimes it's merely fate working her mysterious magic. That’s exactly what happened when five worlds collided. A mutual producer friend spearheaded the initial introduction of ultra-hot European lead singer Dhana and LA local producer/keyboardist Gregg. Shortly after, followed the discovery of drummer Jason, guitarist Matt and bassist Brian.
Named after the bouncy dolls seen in the back of taxicabs, Taxi Doll was formed to bridge the gap between pop-rock and electronic music.
Inspired by a mix of Garbage, Chemical Brothers and Blondie, the band quickly popularized a sound that is often referred to as “Rocktronica”.
“We’ve been so lucky to have all come together so quickly. I know it can take a long time to form a band, but we all love the same bands, Depeche Mode, Goldfrapp, Blondie, No Doubt, Garbage, etc. We used to meet on Melrose to hang out and talk about music, I guess you could say Taxi Doll was formed there.”
Since the inception of Taxi Doll, they have placed numerous songs in TV and Film, with “Waiting” charting 3 on the Billboard Dance Charts and now “Be With You” which is currently moving up the charts.
Their songs can be heard in the following movies and TV shows:
"John Tucker Must Die"
"Firewall"
"Shall We Dance"
"Laguna Beach"
"The Hills"
"CSI: NYC"
"Veronica Mars"

Brenda Jones
About Brenda Jones
The Brenda Jones Experience: Any true lover of music can appreciate a powerful singer—a singer that leaves you in awe after mesmerizing you with a mystical blend of melody and lyrics, descended upon your ears with angelic-like wings. There's something extraordinary about a singer who moves, stirs and touches your very soul in musical ways you never knew existed. That's the Brenda Jones Experience. Who is Brenda Jones? She and her sisters made up "The Jones Girls," the Detroit trio that charted during the late 70's and early 80's with hits like “You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else” and the breezy jazz-laden "Nights Over Egypt.” Their professional career began with the popular Dick Scott Revue, a mid-west regional show that included the Dramatics. The sister act opened for Little Richard and the Four Tops playing 3500-seat venues. Famed writing and production team Holland-Dozier-Holland signed the girls to record after catching one of the shows. Together the Jones Girls provided backing vocals for a host of recording luminaries like Aretha Franklin, Lou Rawls, Teddy Pendergrass, Norman Connors, Curtis Mayfield and Linda Clifford to name just a few. However, it was the tour with Diana Ross that segued into a major label deal yielding four albums on the Philadelphia International Records and a subsequent release on RCA Records. But as dynamic as the Jones Girls were as an ensemble, they had just as much to offer individually. And this time it's Brenda who takes the spotlight. As a solo artist Brenda has worked with Peabo Bryson, Isaac Hayes, King Floyd, Jermaine Jackson, Mary McGregor and other notables. Her voice has been featured as a step out on numerous recordings because of its beauty and tone. Brenda has an identifiable core to her voice that piques your interest and sustains it. A student of the 'vocal past', she idolizes singers like Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, and Nancy Wilson, emulating that same depth of artistic prowess. She has a freedom of delivery where the notes seem to leave her without obstacle, contrivance or force. Brenda’s voice is individual, of superior quality of sound. It showcases her timbre and sultry musical personality. Her low notes speak to the listener with directness and simplicity, and this same ability extends to the very top of her range. And if nothing else grabs you, for sure her captivating emotion will. As singing legacies go, Brenda Jones is still a very present force to be reckoned with.

Hailing from the deep south, Benjamin Clark began playing the piano at the tender age of two years old. Within a few months, it was clear to Benjamin’s piano instructor that he had a prodigy on his hands.
At the age of 12, when most young boys are pursuing sports and academics, Benjamin was performing on stages in New York and later at 16, he had his own nine-piece band. Generating sizable buzz, the piano prodigy began performing with 1950s Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Lloyd Price. Best known for his authentic New Orleans sound and hits including “Stagger” and “Personality,” Lloyd took a liking to Benjamin and the two formed a lasting friendship.
Following high school, Benjamin continued performing on stages with acts including Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, The Coasters, The Tempetations, Little Richard and the Isley Brothers just to name a few. At the age of 24 Benjamin wrote arrangements, conducted and performed at Carnegie Hall with a 21 piece all star orchestra that included many arrangers and musicians that he admired as a kid.
Expanding his repertoire and status within the record industry, Benjamin began to pursue executive and managerial opportunities and later served in multiple promotional, direct marketing and A&R positions for several prestigious record labels including CBS, PolyGram, Warner Brothers, RCA, Macola and Brunswick Records. Under his creative and business direction, Benjamin worked with a host of artists including Jackie Wilson, Chi-Lites, Larry Graham and Dr. Dre. In addition, Benjamin also co-founded Devel Records with industry heavyweight Clive Davis.
Clearly a major force in the record industry, Benjamin’s resume reads like a Grammy nomination list and his talent is undeniable.

SLAVE "Family of Funk"
the reunion has started with the coming together of SLAVE, AURRA, STEVE ARRINGTON’S HALL OF FAME BAND, DEJ’A and YOUNG AND COMPANY.
I guess you are wondering how all of these groups came out of the SLAVE Organization. Well let me start from the beginning. Trumpeter Steve Washington formed the group SLAVE in Dayton, Ohio in 1975. Vocalist Floyd Miller teamed with Tom Lockett Jr., Charlie Bradley, Mark Adams, Mark Hicks, Danny Webster, Orion Wilhoite, and Tim Dozier. Vocalists Steve Arrington and Starleana Young came aboard in 1978 with Curt Jones and Charles Carter joining later that year. Their first big hit was the thumping single "Slide" in 1977 for Cotillion, where they remained until 1984. Their best tracks were lyrically simple, but the arrangements and rhythms were intense and hypnotic.
Steve Washington was the young man from East Orange New Jersey who was known as the fearless leader. He had met Starlena Young and Curt Jones playing in a club with a band called Starchild named after Starlena. This is after the release of the great hit “Slide”. Steve had a vision to put other groups together. He started out by letting Curt Jones and Starlena Young do studio time along with Slave. Steve also started working with and producing groups from the New Jersey area. He soon discovered that he had hit on a northern sound that could be part of his Slave family. But, he was not finish yet. Later on that year he was introduced to Starlena’s brother Billy Young and his co partner Mr. Buddy Hankerson. At the time Billy Young and Buddy Hankerson were going under the name flash flood. The group sound was pure funk from the city streets. Steve came to them with his family project and wanted them to be included. Who could say no, he was teaching us the tools we would need to become the funk artists we are today. We had come full circle, and were ready to take on the music world as SLAVE and as solo projects.
Steve Washington approached a lot of record labels after the success under the Slave umbrella. But, the record labels didn’t want to mess with the hit making machine. So, Steve Washington released all of his under studies on to the music world and the rest is history. Every one under his family began to have and impact on the music world as never seen before. Hit after hit after hit, and when the record companies realized what they had let slip threw there hands it was to late. Because all that Steve Washington said would happen, and did happen on a major level. Young and Company gold recording group, Dej’a gold recording group, Aurra gold recording group, Steve Arrington’s Hall Of Fame multi gold recording group. We were touring the world and the skies were ours.
But, after all of the gold records with SLAVE and solo projects we still missed our home roots. We all started calling each other and talking about getting back together, not just for us, but for the fearless leader Steve Washington. But, before we hit the stage one more time we needed to reach out to the fearless leader. We had to get his blessings to make it happen.
Well folks, Its official, he gave SLAVE “family of funk” the go ahead. Now we are set to start our world tour. When you come to a SLAVE “family of funk” show, you will get the best of SLAVE in all of its evolution, and we will be honoring the young man from East Orange NJ, Mr. Steve Washington and his vision for the Funk!!!

The Kings Of Classic Rock was created to play the very best songs from each of their former bands and create an irresistible set, as much fun to listen to as it is for them to play, and make it appealing to anyone who is a fan of rock music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
Ron Dante
started his career as a singer/songwriter for the legendary music man Don Kirshner. Ron wrote songs for some the biggest artists of the sixties including Gene Pitney, Jay & The Americans, The McCoys, Johnny Mathis, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Bobby Vinton, Freddy Cannon, Jimmy Clanton and Bobby Vee. His first hit record was with a group called The Detergents whose song "Leader Of The Laundromat" was top ten in 1965. He toured with The Dick Clark Caravan of Stars for two years appearing with such groups as Herman's Hermits, The Rolling Stones, Freddy & The Dreamers, The Hollies, Little Richard, The Animals and Little Anthony & The Imperials.
In 1969 Ron was the lead voice of The Archies whose recording of "Sugar, Sugar" sold more than ten million copies and was voted the number one record of the year by Billboard Magazine. That year he also was the lead singer of The Cuff Links and had another top ten hit with "Tracy".
In the seventies Ron sang lead on many commercials some of which became anthems for a generation. Pepsi, Coke, Dr. Pepper and McDonalds were as well know as his biggest hits. Today Ron is the voice of Yoplait's "Itsy Bitsy Yellow Poka Dot Bikini" tv spots.
Ron went on to become the producer of such artists as Barry Manilow, Cher, Pat Benetar and Irene Cara. His productions have sold more than 70 million albums.
Ron currently has 2 albums in release on Digital Musicworks International. "Saturday Night Blast" and "Rockin' Christmas Party are both available on Itunes and msnMusic and has songs old and new with a few guest appearances by Ron's friends Andy Kim and Peter Noone.
Chi Coltrane’s
interest in music began early and by the time she was twelve, she was playing eight instruments— her favorite being the piano. As a teen, she began performing in some of Chicago’s hippest clubs. The word spread that a young, vibrant talent had emerged. Soon after, Chi made her stunning overseas debut when she starred as guest star of the USA at the International Rock Festival before 50,000 people in Rio de Janiero. She ‘tore the house down’ with her electrifying vocals and introspective songs. She returned to the States and immediately signed with Columbia Records.
Her premier release simply entitled “Chi Coltrane” quickly climbed up the charts on the strength of the monster hit single “Thunder and Lightning”. By summer’s end, the track had reached the Top Ten worldwide, selling millions of copies. Following an extensive tour schedule, Chi returned to the studio and 1 1/2 years later released her next album “Let It Ride”. The reviews were extraordinary! With her exceptional songwriting, powerful piano playing and unmistakable voice, when was touted the “Queen of Rock”, the female Elton John and natural successor to Janis Joplin. Rolling Stone Magazine described Chi as a “rip-snorting female vocalist/composer/producer whose performances are nothing less than searing.” The San Francisco Chronicle said that being a singer, songwriter and musician was not exactly lunhearad of, “but she is also very good at all three and has two things going for her beyond talent; an engrossing urgency in her voice and a distinctive presence and beauty.” Chi began making guest appearances on numerous Network TV specials, including NBC’s “The Tonight Show”.
Chi toured extensively in the USA developing a loyal core of dedicated fans. This success soon translated itself overseas. Abroad, the impact of her music was overwhelming with sold out performances and multiple Top Ten hits. In Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands, she was voted Top Female Artist for two consecutive years.
With the recent release of “Chi Coltrane’s Golden Classics” on the Sony label, Coltrane connects with music lovers everywhere.
Chi’s lifetime work has garnered many awards and accolades, both here in America and aborad, including the coveted European Gold Hammer and Silver Hammer for top Female Artist. She held the #1 position in the Musik Express Popularity Poll. In addition, Chi was recently voted one of the Top 50 Musicians of the Century. In 1999 Chi was honored by the 18th Annual Music Industry at their Annual Pre-Grammy Celebration in Los Angeles for her achievements in the field of music.

Five, The Searchers, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Kinks, and others off
the Billboard charts in the early 1960's. All done with authenticity
and fun! The band dresses in '60's period clothes with vintage
instruments. It's full of energy and great musicianship. The musicians
come from Nashville all the way to California.

Jefferson Starship,
a collaboration of celebrated musicians that plays from the rich songbook of its legendary forefathers Jefferson Airplane and the original incarnation of Jefferson Starship, prevails as one of the most critically acclaimed touring acts today. Their hits include, from both Jefferson Airplane, and Jefferson Starship, "Somebody to Love," "White Rabbit" "Caroline," "Miracles," and "Count on Me". Steeped in the fantastic realms of science fiction and the contemporary American shadow land, Jefferson Starship features a stellar cast of old and new players, including songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Paul Kantner, vocalist Marty Balin and bassist Jack Casady, all of whom were crucial in developing the renowned "San Francisco Sound" that changed the course of pop music forever.
Vinny Martell,
lead guitarist of Vanilla Fudge, and U.S. Navy Veteran has received wide acclaim and worldwide recognition for the musicianship and originality that have etched out his place in the annals of rock history. His riff in the Vanilla Fudge chart toper, "You Keep Me Hangin' On," is ranked the number four heaviest guitar riff of all time by Guitar Magazine. The Vanilla Fudge symphonic rock remake of this Supremes' hit placed them at number six on the Billboard Charts in the U.S.A. and at number two on the charts in England, second only to the Beatles. Led Zeppelin opened for them...Jimi Hendrix and Vanilla Fudge did thirteen tour dates together...The great Jimi himself once told Vinny to contact him if The Fudge ever broke up...the Hendrix-Martell Experience, perhaps...Jefferson Airplane, Cream, Janis Joplin...all graced the stage with them...

Howard Scott
was the Co-Founder, Front Person, Leader, Guitarist, Songwriter and co-Producer of one of the biggest Funk/Pop/R&B acts, “War”. Howard competed head-to-head with Earth, Wind & Fire, and regularly bettered them on the charts. War was in the same league as big-time R&B acts like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, and Diana Ross.
Where there was very few before, Howard Scott, with the rest of the band, started out as an international ethnically integrated act led by English blues rocker, ex-Animal, Eric Burdon. They rose to fame on hits like “Spill the Wine”, “Low Rider”, “Why Can’t We be Friends”, and “Slippin’ into Darkness”, “The World is a Ghetto” and “Cisco Kid” just to name a very few. Burdon primed the band then left after completing a couple albums.
Influenced early on by blues masters such as Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters and Jimmy Reed. Howard’s success is only enhanced by his purely emotional connection with the audience. War’s rich harmonies and rump-shaking grooves rounded out the popular sound.
Scott’s spontaneous chemistry has given birth to most of War’s greatest songs. One day Howard Scott was on his porch playing his Fender when he started singing, “Cisco Kid was a friend of mine,” and the rest, as they say, is history.
Howard Scott’s music has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide!!!!
Howard Scott on stage was the main motivator for the band War. Scott took a leading role in the production and writing for the band His approach was far-sighted and idealistic. Understandably, most of his tunes were credited to the whole band. Listen to any of War’s albums or songs to discover Howard Scott’s genius. It’s his soul-drenched voice belting out the lead vocals on most of War’s greatest songs and it’s the funky punch of Howard Scott’s guitar that often ignites the crowd. Howard’s lyrics were sometimes political in nature (in keeping with their racially integrated lineup), but his music had a sunny, laid-back vibe about it emblematic of their Southern California roots, which helped keep the groove loose. In fact, many of his studio songs were edited together out of longer improvisations.
Anyone who has experienced the catharsis of Howard Scott’s live shows knows that his songs are much more than a catalogue of platinum records and hits. With Howard’s ability and chemistry, he could build a Latin tinged groove like a force of nature and take it to the depths of Funk, Soul, R&B, and Jazz. For Howard Scott, the battle has always been to push the boundaries of popular music, to create a musical expression that is original and straight from the soul and heart, despite the forces of green and selfishness at work in society. His battle still continues today.
This unique chemistry goes back to South Central Los Angeles, when he formed an R&B group called The Creators. Like the street culture from which it was born, The Creators was a hybrid of ethnicities and styles, with a strong Latin influence and an eagerness to break the usual club act restrictions.
They cut their teeth on the R&B club scene backing the likes of Marvin Gaye and Little Willie John. As the band evolved, even more diverse elements were thrown into the pot, jazz percussionist Papa Dee Allen who had played with Dizzy Gillespie joined up, as did blues/pop singer Eric Burdon from the Animals.
“We called ourselves The Creators because years ago when we were at Jefty’s (club in L.A.), we’d be playing, it might be “Knock on Wood,” and we’d start out with the main motif, the head of the music, and then just take off on a jam, go anywhere we wanted to go and come back. When Howard Scott gets on stage now, he’s the same way. He starts off with one song, let’s say it could be “Low Rider”, or “ Sun Oh Sun, next thing you know, The Creators come out, whoops!”
All Day Music, which spawned His first Top 40 hits in "All Day Music" and "Slippin' Into Darkness"; the album itself was a million-selling Top hit. Howard Scott really hit his stride on the follow-up album, The World Is a Ghetto; boosted by a sense of multicultural harmony, it topped the charts and sold over three million copies, making it the best-selling album of that year. It also produced two Top smashes in "The Cisco Kid" (which earned them a fervent following in the Latino community) and the title ballad. Deliver the Word was another million-selling hit, reaching the Top and producing the single "Gypsy Man" and another hit in "Me and Baby Brother." However, it had less of the urban grit that Howard Scott prided himself on; while taking some time to craft new material and rethink their direction, War consolidated their success with the double concert LP War Live, recorded over four nights in Chicago.
Why Can't We Be Friends returned to the sound of The World Is a Ghetto with considerable success. The bright, authentic track hit the Top Ten, as did "Low Rider," an irresistible slice of Latin funk that became the group's first R&B chart-topper, and still stands as one of his best-known tunes. The release of a greatest-hits package featuring the new song "Summer". A double-LP compilation of jams and instrumentals appeared on the Blue Note jazz label, under the title Platinum Jazz; it quickly became one of the best-selling albums in Blue Note history, and produced an R&B-chart smash with an edited version of "L.A. Sunshine."
When disco began, Howard switched labels, moving to MCA for Galaxy, the disco-tinged title track was a hit on the R&B charts, Then completing the Youngblood soundtrack album for the movie of the same name, Next was Outlaw, which was a moderate success, the title track was a Top R&B hit. At he same time "Cinco de Mayo" became a Latino holiday standard. Commercial standing Interest in Howard Scott's classic material remains steady, thanks part to frequent sampling of his grooves by many hip-hop artists, which then fueled Rap Declares War with a variety of rappers and the sampling still continues today.
At that time, it was raw the essence of War that Howard Scott craved to go back into the studio and record Peace Sign in 1993. When he tried to return to the studio, he found that the topography of the industry as well as the dynamics of the group had changed. Howard Scott was very disappointed and frustrated. That led him to stop touring for nearly a decade.
This turn in the industry and in the band just slowed Howard down but only temporarily. To the delight of true fans everywhere. Howard Scott formulated a plan to regain control of his music and independence from WAR, as evidenced by his new single “Ordinary Man”. The raw essence is back! True to Howard’s original mission, he continues to evolve and push the boundaries of popular music. Legally, Avenue Records has prevented Howard Scott from using the WAR name. Remember, the spirit and the talent of WAR was and will always be Howard Scott. He will continue to perform, write and produce his music and fans will continue to come out in droves lending weight to Shakespeare’s proverb, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
The Brothers of the Sun Band
As Howard Scott considered going back out on the road, he knew he needed a band that would maintain the integrity of his previous efforts, while at the same time being able to tap into the consciousness of today's contemporary music scene. In that search, The Brothers of the Sun Band was created. Ruben Salazar and Nick Bustos (bass and drums, respectively) exemplify that ideal as they are young, hungry and eager to take their music by storm with heart-stomping groove infected rhythms, and a musical sensibility well beyond their years.
In addition to Howard Scott featuring The Brothers of the Sun Band live dates abroad and in the U.S., he has been in the studio recording more original material, which will be independently released in 2005. As Howard Scott says, “I think the kind of music that we’re on the verge of creating has been in the air. It’s been circulating… I’m going back to my spiritual roots and on my way I want to continue to grow. It took ten years for me to come full circle, put band aides on my wounds, put splints on my broken bones, got my egos adjusted, and then get back on the line and start another fight. And the fight is always going to be how you play music, how people like your music, and how people like your spirit when you perform that music. With that philosophy, you’ve got a whole new flavor for going into the 21st century.”

Southern rock veterans
Black Oak Arkansas
have remained a cult band thanks to their raw, primitive energy and the
testosterone-fueled antics of lead vocalist/showman James "Big Jim Dandy"
Mangrum. Named for Mangrum's hometown, Black Oak Arkansas eventually
built up a solid following through incessant touring and enjoyed a run of
ten charting albums between 1971 and 1976. The band also found itself
with a Top 30 single in their raunchy cover of a LaVern Baker R&B hit
called "Jim Dandy to the Rescue," which became Mangrum's signature song.
When album sales dried up, Mangrum re-formed the band with more musically
skilled veteran players and continued to tour.

Following several straightforward Southern rock
albums, the band called it quits in 1980. After recovering from a heart
attack, Mangrum reunited with Reynolds in 1984 for a solo album, Ready as
Hell; The Black Attack Is Back followed two years later. In 1999, BOA
reunited to release The Wild Bunch. (Steve Huey, All Music Guide)
